They tried to stop Him, and they nailed His feet and hands down. Could they still smell the costly perfume the woman had anointed Him with as they pounded the nails into his feet?
So now, we are called to be His FEET and HANDS…to GO and SERVE.
What He overcame, He has given us authority to do. Will you go? Will you serve?
Luke 7:37-38 And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment.
After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
The women, deep in wonder and full of joy, lost no time in leaving the tomb. They ran to tell the disciples. Then Jesus met them, stopping them in their tracks. “Good morning!” he said. They fell to their knees, embraced his feet, and worshiped him. Jesus said, “You’re holding on to me for dear life! Don’t be frightened like that. Go tell my brothers that they are to go to Galilee, and that I’ll meet them there.”
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
“Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
